To say that it gets warm in Abu Dhabi during the months of June, July and August is perhaps the biggest understatement ever. However, the rising temperature is not an excuse for your fashion bonds to drop. There are still ways and means to look chic and pulled together in this heat.
During the Summer months, I pull out light coloured tops and dresses in light fabrics. Sometimes, it is also fun to have a theme for the entire summer. You can do this by looking at the current fashion trends and see if you already have some of the key pieces in your closet. This promotes creativity and protects your bank balance :)
Looking polished and pulled together in sweltering heat can be challenge but there numerous make up products out there, which does the trick. I swear by Inglot's Pre Make Up Base. It keeps my face oil free the entire day and it proved itself once again yesterday. My day started as early as 8am and till I got home at 10pm, my face remained fresh.
Freshly washed tresses and a hairstyle which moves freely is great as opposed to hairsprayed and stiff hairstyle.
Keep the colours neutral and apply bright and colourful colours with a light hand. Dark coulours is too stark for the hot weather and the risk of the colours running is high.
Invest in a waterproof mascara.
Keep the lips supple and hydrated by drinking loads of water and instead of applying a lipstick, try on a lip gloss in corals, pinks or beige pinks.
