I know that its late for valentines but since February is the love month, let me end the great date looks series with the last look... the bombshell.

So, what exactly is a bombshell? Well, she is a woman is just oozing with confidence and sex appeal, she will never be afraid to be the only woman wearing a red lipstick in boardroom full of nude lipped women and mind you, this is just in the office. Its different ball game when she is out on a date or partying with her girlfriends.

A bombshell, for me will never be without anything animal print. I can't remember which designer it was who said that, 'animal print will only go out of style when sexiness goes out of style.'

I hope that this series inspired you ladies to put on your different faces each and everytime you go out with your special someone. I recall my ex saying that I look different each time he sees me it makes him feel that he is cheating on me. hehehehe. oh wellllll.

GREAT DATE LOOKS - ROCK CHICK MAKE UP

With a little bit of rock and and a little bit of roll.... :)

My take on Taylor's Look with Blue Smokey Eyes and Rich Burgundy Lips.

The Inspiration: IT Girl Taylor Momsen with brown smokey eyes and red lips.

Apply a shimmery shadow on the peaks of your lips to highlight its shape.

Nothing says Valentines better than a red lip :)

Line and Fill your lips with MAC Burgundy Lip Liner and apply MAC Diva Lipstick.

The Givenchy Prism gives the highlight without the shine.

With an INGLOT multi purpose brush (one of my all time favourite brushes) Apply MAC Coppertone blush on the apples of your cheeks. Using an Everyday Minerals brush, apply Givenchy Prism on the cheek plane for some highlights.

Curl you lashes. Apply two coats of Rimmel Glam Eyes Mascara on the upper and lower lashes.

With the Dark blue NYX glitter palette, apply some on your lower lash line.

Almost done

With a Bobbi Brown Eyeliner brush. Apply the light blue (lower left) on the tear ducts.

With an INGLOT Flat shader brush apply the light gray (upper right on the brow bone)
Using a MAC 266 brush apply the dark blue on the lower lash line.

With a MAC 217 apply the light blue (lower left) on the crease. Make sure to blend, you should not see the 2 colours separating.

With a MAC 239 brush apply the darkest blue (lower right) from the lash line to the crease.

This is the Twilight Palette from Dior.

After blending with the MAC 217 brush. Use the MAC 219 brush to smudge the lower lashline.

Scary, I know. Use the MAC 217 to blend.

Apply MAC Feline Pencil from the lash bed all the way to the crease. Line your upper water line and lower water line.

Eye Area with the base.

Set the base for your eye make up. Apply MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre from the lash bed to the brow bone.

Dont forget to make the arch :) and to keep the brow in place, use the wax.

Keep the Brows light. You want them to focus on the eyes.

Sephora Brow Pencil in 01, Benefit Brow Zings in Light with MAC 266 brush.

The Base - MAC Select SPF Foundation, MAC Studio Fix Powder, MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer

Brushes - Bare Minerals Face Brush, Prestige Foundation Brush, Make Up Forever Concealer Brush.

Inspired by the character of Taylor Momsen, Jenny Humphries in the hit show Gossip Girl, this is my take on the Rock Chick look.

Hope you guys like it. :)

GREAT DATE LOOKS - A WALK IN THE PARK

The rewards of patience and digging in a flea market..... Iam laughing on my way to the bank and my date at the park :)

For some reason the classic LV monogram and the Palermo style screams 70's and I aint complainin. Donna Summer was a hit that decade!

Its the colour, the feel of the fabric which makes this a keeper.

A Closer Look at the cuffs and collar and this sunnies that I adore. :)

The makings of a trench, the oversized collar and the lovely details on the cuff

I know, I know, there is no such thing as a date in the park here in Dubai but when I looked at my ensemble for today all I could think about was a day/date spent strolling in Central Park and a visit to the Museum on a nice Spring afternoon. Maybe it is the Colour of this Coat Dress that made me think of trees and more trees. The over sized collar also reminded me of the 70’s so I decided to pair it with over sized sunnies. I guess the operative word for the day is oversize. hehehhe.

But what is not oversize is the price of this coat dress, which, if memory serves me right is under AED 70.00. If there is anything in this world that I love (retail wise) more than getting that shoe in my size after searching in 3 stores is probably getting a bargain. What drew me to this Coat Dress is the colour but when I tried it on, it just felt so good. The fabric is cool enough to wear alone as a dress and the details such as the buckles on the sleeves convinced me that this piece will go to my closet. What I would probably improve, if I have to chance to is to make the belt sturdier so that it can cinch the waist a little more but other than that this Coat Dress is a treasure found J

Coat Dress: Flea Market
Cream Peep Toe Pumps: New Look
Over Sized Sunnies: MANGO
Bag: Louis Vuitton

Leather Pants: Zara
Necklaces: New Look, Splash
Boots: My Strawberry Shop

Hippie Chic meets Rockstar
Faux Fur Jacket: New Look
Headband: New Look

Leather, Fur and load up on accessories
Fur Vest: New Look

Leather Pants: Zara

Necklaces: New Look, Splash
Aviators: MANGO

I dont know about you guys but I have always had this fascination about rock stars - being like them, dating one of them and of course dressing like one of them and since the first 2 options are like close to impossible I just decided to play tribute to this fascination of mine by including this in my Great Date Looks Series.

Over the years the style of these musicians have evolved. Before we used to equate leather pants to rock stars That was the case for a very long time but not until the Seattle Grunge Scene came into existence and Marc Jacobs placed flannel and utility boots in every fashionista's must have list.

I remember wearing a flowery sundress, doc martens and a jean jacket en route to a school retreat when I was in second year. I felt so cool. hahahaha

Anyway, if you are going to date one, there is really no harm in looking like one. :)

GREAT DATE LOOKS - LUNCH AL FRESCO

White Single Breasted Coat: G2000
White Tube Top: MANGO
Skinnies: Dragon Mart
Pearl Choker: New Look
Animal Print Clutch: New Look
Animal Print Sling Backs: ALDO
Animal Prints will always sexify any outfit but for a lunch al fresco small elements will do.
Add a black coat for the chilly weather.
Don't know about you but there is something so Lily Bass about this outfit.

Black Single Breasted Coat: G2000
Satin top: MANGO
Skinnies: Dragon Mart
Open Toed Sandals: ALDO
Bag: Louis Vuitton
Colour of the season... atleast for me.
Jeans for me are very feminine especially if they are skinnies but this top makes the ensemble look even girlier. :)

I look forward to Thursdays not only because it signals the weekend but also because it is dress down Thursday. I can finally wear jeans. But this Thursday was speacial because instead of just putting something together I thought of another great date look..... Lunch Al Fresco. It would have been easy to just grab a sundress but then again Lunch Al Fresco and sundress seemed like the ideal pairing so I decided on jeans and some ultra girl touches. :)
fo
Keep the look simple and fresh. I skipped foundation but kept the concealer and Benetint. Prevent oil with Bare Minerals Mineral Veil. I also did not define my brows but I kept it in place with a brow gel. I used Flirt by Smashbox for the entire eye and applied a single coat of mascara. Lastly, I applied Nars Dolce Vita lipstick.

GREAT DATE LOOKS - THE GIRL NEXT DOOR

Now, got to log out now. My date is downstairs. :)

Add a military inspired jacket and lose the belt
or wear it all together. :)

The Making of an outfit. Start with a basic crisp white shirt (thank God its still okay to layer. :))
Add a belt.
Add a lacey old rose inner shirt.

Some Products to help you pull off that natural look.

Military Inspired Jacket from Splash and Stilletos from Milktrails Online Shopping

The love month is upon us and I am excited!!!!! I am so thrilled by the thought that women will be out there buying themselves fab outfits and shoes for their dates. Don’t get me wrong, it does not have to be with a guy, it can be with your friends or just buy the outfit because you know you deserve it.

While I was dressing up this morning I thought why not do some posts of great date looks – outfits and make up looks that you can try on for a myriad of dates that you ladies will not only have this February but the entire year.

We start this series with a look for a Girl Next Door who may grab a bite in a bistro, watch a late screening of a movie and just chill.

The make up is kept to a minimum mainly using pink shades to make the girl next door looking fresh.

For ladies who want to chill this valentine’s day here are some tips to keep you looking gorgeous.
  1. Skip the Foundation. Instead use a foundation faker. One to try will be Benefit’s Some Kind of Gorgeous and don’t forget to conceal. With tired peepers, your date might want to take you home.
  2. Add some illuminator to make you look like you are glowing. Makes you look like you had 8 hours of zzzzzzz.
  3. Opt for blushing products which warms up naturally to the face like Smashbox' O Glow and O Bronze.
  4. Open up your eyes by curling your lashes and applying mascara.
  5. There is something about light pink eyeshadow that makes it soooo girl.
