DAY OUT

WITH MEL INFRONT OF THE DUOMO

This morning, over a bowl of Dorset Cereals, I realised that it has been 2 years since I left Milan. That was a glorious summer filled with adventure! Gosh! The fun that we had! 2 hours of sleep and off we go to class.

My Summer in Milan and IED was literally a feast for all the senses. I could not stop marveling at the architecture, the innate chicness of everyone. Who would say no Parmigiana, Insalata di Buffala, Red Wine, Champagne, Proseco in the afternoon? The smell of fresh tomato sauce and pizza dough during lunch? How about being able to listen to big church bells in the morning or the sound of the birds chirping in an Agriturismo in Spoleto? I can't explain vibe of the entire country. Perhaps, overwhelmingly beautiful.... in all aspects, and while I was having breakfast with hunny, I felt a pang of sadness and then it hit me...... I FREAKING MISSSSSS ITALY!!! WAAAAAHHHHHHH..... its pathetic! hahahahaha. But hunny reminded me that I should look forward to next year when I will finally be back in Italy :)

Heres to that Glorious Summer!

OPUS DEI HEADQUARTERS IN ROME

Last year, March, I paid a visit to the headquarters of Opus Dei in Rome to give thanks to the numerous answered intercessions from St. Josemaria and it was love at first sight for me. Before landing, the sight of the the Basilica di San Pietro even excited me more. I could not wait to get off the plane to explore the Eternal City.

The weather was great and within 15 minutes of arriving in the hotel I immediately made my way out to explore. Rode the metro and within minutes I was walking in the centre of Rome. :) I also visited my schoolmate Nicole in Firenze, who I have not seen since we graduated from highschool.

Italy aside from being the centre or origin of Roman Catholic Faith is simpy breathtaking and I have not even started describing the food!!!! hehehe. And so it was indeed Love at First Sight for Me.

Because of this love, I decided to pursue my course in Fashion Styling in Milan at the Istituto Europeo di Design and even had the chance to see other treasures of Italy. I visited St. Francis of Assisi' s church, attended the Umbria Jazz Festival, relaxed in an agriturismo in Spoleto, rode the gondola in Venezia, shopped in Milan (hehehehe), ate soooo much pasta and pizza and soooo much more.

And now that I am working for an italian firm, I thought that perhaps its hightime that I take my italian course seriously and speaking the language will remind as to why i fell in love with Italy in the first place. :)
